Reunion dinner of CNY 13

This was probably one of the most wonderful and sumptuous meal personally for us in Lunar New Year! Mum will buy the ingredients from the nearest wet market near her house and we were in for a big feast!

Normally, I would arrange the ingredients before the guests arrived for dinner ...

From the look of the food on the table, it looked like it was prepared for at least 15 people!

We were always glad that Ah Gu and family and their neighbour could join this year! Before we started the steamboat, we have bought a box of Yu Sheng from a nearby coffeeshop in the morning for a good luck "lou hei" session!

Yes, the feast began!!! Yummy !

After a very good dinner, time to relax and chat. Ah Gu was having a good time playing with Jojo.

Chinatown 2013 !

It is almost like a tradition that I visited Chinatown before Lunar New Year to feel the festive mood!

 Yeap, it is the year of the "Snake" this year! Alright, I am fascinated by snakes featured in Animal Planet but not exactly in love with them! These snakes were being modified to look really friendly and somewhat cute!

Pretty disappointed by the decoration this year ... all one can see were big red imprinted boxes hanging from pole to pole! Lack of varieties and interests really ...

The "snake" made of boxes looked more visible from this angle though. If not, it was extremely difficult to figure what the the red boxes were all about. If the hanging boxes from the snake's body to the roads' poles were made of different materials, it would definitely be more interesting. However, that does not deter me from visiting Chinatown next year!

The new look of Chinatown Point! It kinda reminded me of a Casino in Asia Pacific!

Pineapple tarts baking session for 2013 CNY

Couldn't wait for another yearly session of pineapple tarts baking with 1B18!

Above was Honey Cornflakes with raisins and a generous servings of macadamia and mixed nuts! An easy recipe but the taste was simply divine !

Tiang has rolled most of these pineapples into lovely balls !

Tired of rolling the tarts into balls ? You can try a rather time-consuming method of shaping them into little piggies!

Yes, we have accomplished our tasks of baking enough delicious home-made tarts home!
