First Day of CNY 2013

Yet another lunar year was approaching! Some dreaded this annual festive with fear of nosy relatives' inquisitive questions about marriage, kids, jobs etc. Some welcomed the long weekend, a break from work! Some took opportunity to go overseas for a short holiday! Whatever the reason might be, it was definitely a chinese custom to visit relatives and a time to catch up with one another.

Waiting up in the morning and anticipating a day of visitations! Yeah, the first day of CNY was always the most tiring for us!

Jojo has been groomed the week before CNY and looking ready for CNY visitations as we much as we did!

The first visit to mum's house at around 10am.... our first visit on the first day as usual. I'm always quite attracted to these small cute pinkish radish my mum bought from the market!
Very nice fried rice for our breakfast cooked by mum! Yummy!

After an hour's stay at mum's house, time to proceed to MIL's house!  We have prepared these firecrackers prawns as an additional dish with Ah Mi's fried bee hoon.
A quick group photo before we departed for Ah Gu's house.

The "popular" staircase to take a photo of the kids! They certainly have grown up now!
Not forgetting these 2 sweet young nieces who are very friendly, helpful and chatty!
We have steamboat at Ah Gu's house. It was really an easier option for Ah Gu as there were relatives flowing in and out of his house from morning till night! We left his house in the evening to get some rest before going to elder bro's house.

So much more refreshed after some rest! Jojo has been following us for 3 visits (except Ah Gu's house) and he was certainly very happy to follow us around!

After a good dinner, we gathered to sit around and chatted. Jojo somehow became the center of attraction. The little dog was dashing up and down the stairs or simply just walked around to everyone for a pat! I bet he was just as tired as us ... having spent more than 11 hours visiting on first year of CNY!
