Time flies, another year has passed by .. yeah, just with a blink of an eye!
We have enjoyed a relatively successful humble Halloween last year and thought we could do it again this year!
Halloween has started much earlier to fit into everyone's busy schedule ! It was time to crack your head how to decorate the house to have that feel of Halloween ...
Best that can be done here .... some mix and match of purplish decorative papers cut into stripes.. economical lovely black and orange Halloween items from Daiso ... nothing fanciful but enough to create a more Halloween feel... I hope.
Let's see how our food fared here. We cannot have all food created into Halloween dishes, however, we have done pretty well in terms of quality food to satisfy friends who were present.
This was a delicious oriental soup (with mushrooms, shredded crab meat etc) by Tiang. She is very sweet to customize the plastic bowl drawn with a witch and some "scary" ingredients on them! This soup was definitely not for the "faint-hearted" !Introducing BC's yummy curry chicken (if you can spot an "evil-looking" chicken bone jetting out from the earthen-looking bowl !)
How should I bake my cupcakes to make it more Halloween-inspiring ? Hope these webs did the trick ... it was easy .. just spread the orange coloured frosting over the surface of the cake and piped 2 rings using black coloured frosting on it. After which, pipe and drew down the remaining frosting from the center of the cupcake to the edge of the cake ... to complete the web!
More ideas came up one after another .... creepy enough ... Halloween graveyard chocolate cupcakes .. haha. These "tombs" were mini oreos trimmed easily by a scissor with "RIP" piped with white cream frosting! Hmm .. I was thinking "pang dang" people won't like these graveyard cupcakes very much ...well ... it's Halloween!
I've totally forgotten about the 5 cupcakes which were left to cool on the wire rack and I've ran out of the home-made frosting! How careless! Luckily, I still have some supermarket-bought frosting just enough for the "bloody eyes" cupcakes!
Our creative Tiang has came up with a brilliant idea of a witch's broom! Very nicely done! The sticks were chocolate pocky sticks and the sweep were made of dried fish fillet! Certainly a one-of-a-kind combination of ingredients!
This ready made pastry from Poon Huat was delicious! Cut them into strips and wrapped them around a sausage ... for the eyes, roll the pastry into a small ball and stuck them on! Thanks to Fang, Lee Lim and Esther for helping to make the sausages looked so tempting and so so cute !
BC's wonderful vegetarian fried bee hoon! Nothing frightening about this dish at all ... what mattered was a decent staple food to fill the tummy!
Sweet Colette made these Oneh Oneh for us ! Well done gal!
This devilish looking wings on the orange pumpkin pail ... looked suspiciously like our favourite wings by Fang's sister ! They were so delicious that some "scheming" friends did "testing" on the wings to ensure they were cooked thoroughly ... a good excuse concocted to eat the wings the moment they were removed from the wok!
ACE's domestic helper has cooked this hot & fiery sambal sotong with petai!
This dish was cooked with perfection and was emptied quite fast!
Can't forget these gula-malacca agar agar made by BC! They were simply unforgettable! Hint hint ...
