Night photography at Marina Bay

A night photography fun with HN around Marina area. After a good dinner at Thai Express, we walked from Cityhall to Marina Bay. Fortunately, it was a great night with breeze for a slow walk ...
A view of Raffles City from the field ...

The view o the lighted CBD area ...
Opposite the famous Fullerton Water Boat House ...

We were in for a pleasant surprise as the Marina Sands were lighted up with hundreds of attractive pink balls floating on the waters!
If you could spot the Merlion in the distance ?

Laser lights in action!
The bay was bustling with life that night!

Gardens by the Bay (Dec 12)

Another long forgotten post at Gardens by the Bay!

The OCBC walkway ($5 per entrance) to get a bird's eye view of the place.

The iconic "Super trees" ...

They certainly look more beautiful when the night fell ..
These three super-trees were found nearer to the entrance of the park.
The "Flower Dome" ... overlooking the Marina bay.
Some pretty small cactus ...
 Pretty flowers ...

Crystals ...
As it was in the month of Sept till Nov 12, one section of the Flower Dome has transformed itself into more autumn looking garden...

 Pumpkins, corns ... very country-look ... cosy
In love with the different type of pumpkins ...
 Autumn feel wreath ...
Pretty cute bunny ..

This is another air-conditioned dome called "Cloud Forest". The moment you enter this dome, the vapors from this artificial falls kinda gives your face a mist spray ! How refreshing!
This was taken at the highest point of the Cloud Forest.

A Rainbow cake

Can't get my mind off this rainbow cake ... it just looks so delightful!
Invited cousin and Meimei over for a colourful and fun baking. The ladies really enjoyed the session.
It was also cousin's mother Birthday, therefore, this cake was also baked for her!
Mei's favourite colour is purple and the purple batter was the first to go into the oven. She was very enthusiastic in the whole process as she was quite attracted to the colours.
Putting 6 different colours into 6 bowls. We only have 3 primary colours but that was ok. Just mixed the primary colours to get purple, orange and green. To bake a rainbow cake sure needs a lot of time as it needs 6 rounds of baking if you have a single tier convention oven like mine.
Celebrating Aunt's birthday at a coffeeshop near their house.

Finally, we were able to present the cake to Aunt! When she cut the cake, she was so surprised to see the lovely colours!
A slice of rainbow cake for everyone ... a slice of happiness for all ...

Happy Birthday Aunt !

Wholemeal buns

Our first attempt at bread making!
Pretty fun actually as CK actually enjoy baking with me for the first time!

There was a lot of waiting time for the dough to raise and double in size .... finally, it was time to put in the oven to bake! We were quite anxious about the results!
They turned out to be better than expected and it tasted pretty good while eaten hot! However, for me, I felt happy because CK was able to "participate" the whole process with me.

Warren Country Club for a treat

A get together treat for cousin and Ah Gu ... can't really think of a place to go to. As it was Christmas, by all means we would avoid crowded Orchard Road.

Therefore, we have chosen Warren Country Club, "Yan Palace". The club interior as looking quite geared up for Christmas !

Coincidentally, the treat was quite near my uncle's birthday, so in a way, we were celebrating his birthday for him. Unfortunately, aunt was working on that day and couldn't join us for the feast.

We ordered a customised set menu ... the dim sum can be ordered separately.
The Bah Kwa was very tender and delicious, the melon soup was fantastic too.
We were pretty full as the servings were quite huge!
It was quit a good lunch with chatty Mei Mei around ....

Cook and Carpenters for Christmas

A simple and cosy Christmas get-together with colleagues at Carpenter and Cook at Lorong Kilat. The road name sounded so alien but it is actually near Chun Tin Road.

Love the exterior look of the cafe already ....

It isn't a big cafe but it is cosy and relaxing to have a light tea and drinks with friends.

Pots, pans and ladles hanging on the wall ... it becomes an interesting feature wall.

Good old fashion kitchen weighing scales ...

The pastries and cakes !
Very tempting treats indeed ... we were at a lost which one to choose ?

Some of the cakes, sandwiches and pastries we have ordered.

And hot drinks ...

Pressies time !
A group photo taken at the corner of the cafe ..

Very nice handmade packaging and bought gifts from Steph.
The two ladies decided to hop to visit Jojo ...

Poor Jojo .... the visit was supposed to play with him but in return we have spent some time baking a Victorian cake instead. Anyhow, he was glad of some unexpected visitors!

Sumptous dinner at Jo's house

Another wonderful Christmas affair at Jo's house.

A great spread of food .. from wraps to peppered-ribs to sushi ...

ZN was extremely cute that day, she was so willingly to pose for photo.

With the ladies ... glad that Jo allowed Jojo to join in the fun too.

ZN's best friend is CK !

The kiddos waiting for the chocolate ice cream cake to be cut and to be eaten!
Finally, a group photo to mark a great day!
